Tonight's beer: Ballast Point Wahoo
Bright lemony citrus on pale bread. Touches of earthy spices with grassy-floral bitterness in the distance. Pretty tart, then gently dry.
Light-bodied, pretty smooth even though it's well-carbonated. A tug toward the puckering—especially at the beginning—but mostly cleansing and refreshing and sharply drying.
A pretty convincing take on a witbier, really. Plenty of flavor, it tending more toward the straightforward; well integrated and balanced. Very drinkable. An excellent beer for a muggy (if not particularly hot) summer evening, and a decent introduction to a brewery I don't remember having before.
