Tonight's beer: Southern Tier Hopsun
Grassy-floral bitterness on top of lightly-toasted pale bread. Clickers of pepper, earth, and caramel around the edges. Starts out nicely balanced between malty and bitter, and stays right there through the finish.
Very light-bodied, well-carbonated. A very little stickiness but otherwise clean; drying, cleansing, and refreshing.
A delicious wheat beer that comes across more like some sort of pale lager. Perfect to accompany hot weather activities. Intense (especially given the 5.1% ABV) if more straightforward than complex; nicely balanced and integrated. Drinkable as hell. One of the beers I get every year, as soon as I see it. That it's pretty in the glass is a bonus, and makes for a combination that's hard to beat.
