Tonight's beer: Einbecker Brauherren Pils
Grassy-floral bitterness front and center and top, with a strong but not unpleasant impression of sulfur. Some pale bready sweetness rises through the middle, more as counterpoint than balance. Bitter, then a hint of sweetness, then dry.
Very light-bodied, nicely carbonated. Some lingering stickiness, but mostly clean and cleansing and refreshing. Bracingly drying.
A very nice German Pilsner, very hops-forward byt nicely poised. Pretty straightforward flavor, but intense and well-integrated. Impressively drinkable. Seems as though it would be a very food-friendly beer (though something like chili con carne might be more than it could reasonable be expected to handle). A delicious example of a style I'm quite fond of.
