Tonight's beer: New England Gandhi-Bot
Lots of resinous pine, with generous splashes of citrus, flowers, grass, and musk: a complex carpet of bitterness. Some bready sweetness fills in behind, with some caramel and honey seeping in around the edges. Bitter, then a little sweet, then dries out thoroughly.
Pretty thick and kinda chewy, with syrupy-resinous stickiness that hangs around for a long time. Decently carbonate. A little juiciness around the beginning and middle, lots of drying by the finish; something a lot like refreshing. Not a lot of alcohol presence.
An intensely bitter Double IPA, with a good deal of complexity. Not anything like balance, but holds together very nicely. Delicious, and massively drinkable. I'm impressed.
