Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA

Tonight's beer: Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA

Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA

Tons of bitterness—shocking, but it's true—lemony-grapefruity citrus, threaded with flowers, pine, grass. Soft bready backbone touched by caramel and toast mostly int he middle; then, the beer dries out extensively.

Medium-bodied, or a little lighter; maybe a little sparsely carbonated. Some soft syrupy stickiness, massively drying. Astonishingly refreshing.

Wow! An amazingly drinkable IPA. Intense and very complex, especially at 6% ABV; marvelously well-integrated, and deliriously deliciously unbalanced. Probably as good an IPA as I've had in a long, long time. I really really wish Deschutes had distribution in Maryland.
