Tonight's beer: Samuel Adams Ruby Mild
Dark bread, caramel, toast; some impressions of chocolate, and some earthy-peaty-grassy bitterness, especially around the finish. Maybe a vague and gentle touch of dried mostly-dark fruits. Starts kinda sweet, stays there pretty much throughout.
Medium-bodied, kinda soft, well-carbonated. Some breadiness and a little syrupy stickiness on the back end. Softly drying, and impressively refreshing.
A very tasty beer, and a very drinkable one. Nicely intense, and complex enough to reward attention; balanced and integrated. This isn't a style I know well, particularly, but I like this beer plenty. Kinda a pity that it is (I think) only available in the Harvest 12.
