Tonight's beer: Southern Tier Harvest
Grassy-floral bitterness opens, followed closely by some caramel-toasty bready sweetness, with some peppery flickers around the edges. A wisp of smoke flashes past, and a sprinkle of spice, then the bitterness reasserts itself into and beyond the long aftertaste.
Medium-bodied, softly sticky, gently carbonated. A bit drying around the finish, tending toward clean, cleansing and refreshing. A little syrupy stickiness on the very back end.
Yum! A pretty straightforward beer, masterfully brewed. Plenty intense, and surprisingly complex for having such a simple ingredients list; marvelously well-integrated and nicely balanced. Delicious, and extraordinarily drinkable. Beautiful in the glass, as a bonus. Unsurprisingly, another superb beer from Southern Tier. So, I'm a fanboy.
