Tonight's beer: St. Feuillien/Green Flash Bière De L'Amitié
Loads of pale fruit—bright citrus and pale stonefruit; bright spice like coriander. Lightly toasted bread, drizzled with caramel. Pine, flowers, grass all over the middle and distance. A splash of fruit, then briskly bitter and blisteringly dry.
Very light-bodied and well-carbonated. Drying and refreshing as heck. Not much alcohol presence—barely any, in fact. Scrubbing and cleansing and clean.
Yum! I've had several beers from both brewers, and it's hard to find a bad one from either. This is tasty as hell: intense and amazingly complex, astonishingly balanced and integrated. Entirely delicious. Practically no warning of the 9.5% ABV payload. A beer that's clearly meant to go wtih food, and one I kinda wish I'd bought more of.
