Tonight's beer: Stillwater Artisanal Why Can't IBU?
Bitter to start: Mostly-lemony citrus sprinkled with pine and flowers and maybe grass. Some pale bread, possibly touched with some caramel, in the background. Dim impressions of spice and bananas. Bitter, then very dry by the end.
Very light-bodied, decently carbonated. Extraordinarily drying and refreshing; cleansing, scrubbing, almost scouring. Finishes pretty clean.
A very nice pale ale—a little spiciness, maybe from belgian-ish year. Plenty complex and intense, especially given the relatively mild 5.7% ABV; nicely integrated and hops-accentuated, just as it says on the label. Tasty and very drinkable, with a flavor-to-booze ratio of awesome. Yet another superb beer from Stillwater Artisanal, to the surprise of roughly no one.
