Full Sail Wassail

Tonight's beer: Full Sail Wassail

Full Sail Wassail

A momentary flash of floral-grassy bitterness, then toast and dark bread roll through, with molasses and caramel and nuts and toffee amply drizzled in. Impressions of peat and earth and maybe smoke arouen the periphery. Gradually but thoroughly dries out, over a long, long finish.

Thick and bready-chewy, decently-carbonated. Some syrupy stickiness, especially into the aftertaste. Filling and satisfying, but at least a little drying and cleansing and refreshing, too. Softly warming, eventually.

Very, *very* nice. Intensely bittersweet, impressively complex; well-balanced and beautifully integrated. A little brawny, but not oout of the way for 7.2% ABV. Amazingly drinkable. One of my favorite winter seasonal beers, and the biggest reason Full Sail is among my favorite breweries.
