Boulevard (Smokestack Series) Reboot

Herbal-grassy bitterness, flecked with citrus (lemons, oranges, touches or grapefruit and maybe lime), flowers, bright coriander and pepper; a flicker of pine in the distance. Pale bread in the background, emerges momentarily.Complexly bitter, then some movement toward sweet, then sharply and extensively dry.

Very light-bodied, highly carbonated. A little soft bready chewiness. Impressively drying and refreshing. Cleansing and scrubbing. Maybe a vague hint of booze, but very subtle for 7.4% ABV.

Delicious, from start to finish: intense as hell and amazingly complex, marvelously well-integrated and poised (if not exactly balanced). Astonishingly drinkable. I remember the version Boulevard brewed with Deschutes, and I remember liking it tons. I gather this has been retooled somewhat, and it definitely tastes like a Boulevard beer—it shares some house character with Tank 7 and Double Wide, at least. Another big-time winner from Boulevard.
