Tonight's beer: Clown Shoes Porcine Unidragon

Clown Shoes Porcine Unidragon

Caramel, vanilla, butter (a component of the bourbon, I'm sure) splashed ans splattered over chocolate, coffee, and dark bread. Earth and grass lurking in the background, with threads of smoke, ash, peat. Dim hints of burnt fruits. Massively bittersweet from the start, and more or less constant.

Not all that thick, but viscous and sticky; moderately well-carbonated. Softly drying, eventually some subtle boozy glow, understated for 12.5% ABV but still present.

A delicious Big American Stout, laden with—dominated by—bourbon character but otherwise pretty well-balanced. Massively intense and complex, and pretty well-integrated, if at least a little over-the-top. Probably about what the brewers intended, and drinkable enough in a sipping-beer kind of way. Yet another impressive beer from Clown Shoes.
