Tonight's beer: Jailhouse Brewing Misdemeanor Ale
Floral-grassy-earthy bitterness, precisely balanced against caramel-toasty-bready sweetness. Threads of citrus (grapefruit, lemons, oranges) and other pale-ish fruits (pears, white grapes, maybe apricots or bananas or pineapples) and maybe a flicker of pine and/or spice. Starts bittersweet, finishes nicely dry.,
Medium-bodied, softly carbonated. Some bready chewiness and stickiness. Gently and gradually drying, immensely refreshing.
A marvelously drinkable amber ale. Intricately and precisely balanced and integrated; complex, if only about as intense as one would expect from a 5.5% ABV beer. The brewers say on the label they made this beer to go with food; I'd be willing to bet it would go well with lots of great foods. This is the second beer I've had from Jailhouse Brewing, and they've both impressed greatly. Delicious from start to finish.
