Tonight's beer: Ommegang Glimmerglass
Opens bright and fruity: mostly citrus with some apples and pears and white grapes. Pale bread and a little caramel a bit back. Grassy-floral bitterness lurks around the finish. Nicely dry throughout.
Light-bodied and bright and extensively carbonated. Massively drying and refreshing; cleansing and scrubbing.
A delicious and -drinkable- slurpable beer, as one might expect from Ommegang. Plenty of complexity, here, and impressively complex for 5.4% ABV. Beautifully well-balanced and integrated. A marvelous way to greet spring, named for a beautiful place—even if that particular name comes from an author guilty of many literary offenses. Very, *very* nice.
