Lots of caramel and toast, threaded with vanilla and balanced against grassy-floral bitterness. Flickers of citrus and pine around the edges. Rye sourness and pepperiness in the background throughout. Skittering along a fine bittersweet line from start to finish.

Medium-bodied, gently carbonated. Kinda chewy and a bit sticky. Definitely some boozy prickle and maybe even heat, but pretty subdued (or at least reasonable) for 10% ABV. Eventually: Drying, scrubbing, scouring.

A delicious beer, interesting in its dancing along a boundary between Double IPA and Barleywine. There's plenty of bitterness here, but there's so much malt that the beer remains surprisingly well-balanced. Plenty intense and complex, grows more balanced as it warms, always beautifully well-integrated. Definitely a sipping beer, but a drinkable one. Yum!
