Tonight's beer: Tröegs Nugget Nectar
Lots of citrus-piny-bitterness, with lots of floral-grassy flecks. Caramel and bread and toast a solid counterpoint. Juicy sweetness a strong background presence. Densely bittersweet, then briskly dry. Maybe some oddments of spice, nuts, toffee off in the distance.
Bready-chewy, nicely carbonated. Drying, refreshing; juicy; clean and cleansing. Medium-bodied. Some resinous-syrupy stickiness around the edges.
Yum! This is, seriously, one of my favorite beers, period, at least in part because it's easy enough to find around here, for at least a month or two (availability is important to me). Intense and complex, amazingly well-balanced and integrated. Entirely delicious, from start to finish. Astonishingly drinkable. We're just about to the end of what we acquired of this for this year. There will be tears, I suspect, but our joy will return next year; it always does.
