Tonight's beer: Brewer's Art Ozzy

Brewer's Art Ozzy

Grassy-floral bitterness to start; pale bread behind, with pale dried fruits—apples, pears, white grapes, apricots, peaches, pineapples, bananas, etc.—right behind: malty presence galore, but dry. Hints of bright spice and caramel around the edges. A flash of bitter, then a long dry trip through the finish.

On the light side of medium-bodied, nicely carbonated. Remarkably clean; cleansing, drying, refreshing. A bit of prickle, but the 7.3% ABV is very subdued and well-hidden.

A delicious Belgian-style pale ale, beautiful in the glass to boot. Intense and complex, well-balanced and masterfully well-integrated. Alarmingly more-ish and drinkable; subtle and supple enough to get the unwary in a lot of trouble. Graceful as hell. A local beer I'm always happy to drink, or cook with, or share. Yum!
