Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero

Tonight's beer: Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero

Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero

A big slightly-dark-bready chocolatey smear, with threads of caramel, pepper, smoke, making spice (mostly cinnamon(. Earth and grass in the distance, flickers of burnt dark fruits. Dries out a little into the finish.

Kinda thick, gently carbonated. A bit chewy and distinctly sticky. A bit of spicy-peppery prickle, but remarkably little boozy presence for 9% ABV. A little drying around the end, but mostly coating.

A tasty beer; it seemed kindasorta appropriate for today. Lots of flavor here: dark and rich and complex, nicely balanced with all kinds of added flavors (ancho peppers, chocolate, cinnamon) well integrated into the stoutiness of it all. This bottle sat around a while, which at least didn't hurt it one bit. Clown Shoes continues to impress.
