Tonight's beer: O'Dempsey's Inukshuk
Caramel-toasty-bready sweetness, backed by floral-grassy bitterness; some hints of citrus and pine around the edges. Evolves rapidly from malty sweetness to striking hoppy bitterness, then dries out a bit.
A bit thicker than medium-bodied, decently carbonated. Chewy and a bit sticky, eventually kinda drying. Gently cleansing and nicely refreshing.
A pretty decent IPA, maybe a bit on the malty side for the style (though it's worth pointing out the brewer makes a point about this being a balanced IPA). Pretty intense and complex, nicely integrated and definitely balanced for an IPA. Very drinkable. I think this is the first beer I've had from these folks; I'm intrigued and a bit impressed.
