Blue Mountain Rockfish Wheat

Tonight's beer: Blue Mountain Rockfish Wheat

Blue Mountain Rockfish Wheat

Pale bread and a touch of caramel. Bananas and cloves, with possibilities of other dark spices (like allspice). Some grassy-floral bitterness emerges eventually. Background hints of smoke and bubblegum. By the end, dries out pretty thoroughly.

Maybe a little lighter than medium-bodied, noticeably soft and smooth, lots of carbonation. Some bready chewiness and stickiness but eventually nicely cleansing, drying, refreshing.

A delicious hefeweizen, and almost local (we can get to the brewery for a day trip, if we want to). Comes across to me as very convincing. Intense and complex, balanced and superbly well-integrated. Astonishingly drinkable. Most of what we get around here from Blue Mountain are their bitter beers; it's good to see they can to a conventional-strength hefeweizen, and well.
