Tonight's beer: Narrows Giant Pacific Octopus
Massively bitter to start: grassy floral, pine and citrus (orange and lemon, mostly) threaded in. Some pale-bready sweetness in the background, hints of honey and caramel and pale fruits. After that bitter start a little sweet; finishes astonishingly dry.
Medium-bodied, maybe a little lighter; nicely carbonated but comes across as smooth. Cleansing, drying, massively refreshing. Maybe a little resinous-syrupy stickiness around the edges.
Very *very* nice. Tons of complex and intense flavor, here, beautifully well-integrated but seriously (deliriously) unbalanced. Drinkable as hell. Poised and graceful. Delicious from start to finish and beyond. Yum!
