Tonight's beer: Blue Mountain Full Nelson
Grassy-floral bitterness opens, backed by earth, spice, maybe citrus and spice lurking around the edges. Pale bread in the background, with a touch of caramel and toast. Bitter, then briefly sweet, then wraps up very dry.
Medium-bodied, maybe a bit lighter; nicely carbonated. A hint of chewiness but otherwise mostly clean, cleansing, drying, refreshing.
A very nice American Pale Ale, less focused on stereotypical American hops than many but delicious nonetheless. Plenty intense for a moderate ABV beer, and complex enough to hold the attention; nicely balanced. Impressively drinkable. Blue Mountain continue to impress, even with their conventional-strength beers.
