Tonight's beer: Heavy Seas Riptide
Some juicy bright lemony citrus to start, with coriander shimmering alongside. Bready sweetness, with flecks of toast and caramel, in the background. Hints of pine, flowers, grass, spice, and pepper. Starts bitter, wraps up very nicely dry.
A little on the light-bodied side, moderately well-carbonated. Kinda soft and a bit chewy, but mostly drying and cleansing; intensely refreshing.
Yum! When Heavy Seas brews in something that's anything like a defined style, they typically nail it; this beer is a good example of that. Bracingly intense and deeply complex, exceptionally well-balanced. Massively drinkable. Another winningly excellent beer from a brewery that's practically in my backyard.
