Tonight's beer: Lancaster Hop Buggy
Grassy-floral bitterness, butting against bread, caramel, toast. Threads of pine, citrus, pale fruit. Hints of earth, maybe smoke or peat in the background. Bitter, then dry, then nicely dry.
Just about medium-bodied, bready-chewy and a little soft, decently carbonated. A little sticky around the finish, but mostly clean, cleansing, drying, refreshing.
A delicious and drinkable beer. Lots of subtle complexity for 5.8 % ABV, and surprisingly intense; nicely balanced and beautifully well-integrated. Clearly a beer that would go amazingly well with food. All the grains make for a sturdy and supple backbone. I hope they brew this again.
