Tonight's beer: Blue Mountain Classic Lager
A bit of pale-bready sweetness, with grace notes of toast and caramel. Grassy-floral bitterness arises through the middle and lingers into the quick, sharp finish. Dries out thoroughly.
Light-bodied, more or less, and decently carbonated. Clean, cleansing, immensely drying. Powerfully refreshing.
A startlingly tasty pale later, not quite a Pilsner but not aiming or claiming to be one. As intense as the style gets, really, and appropriately straightforward and balanced. Impressively drinkable. The guys at Blue Mountain brew some excellent beers; this is one.
