Tonight's beer: Highland Gaelic Ale
Lots of caramel and toast, smears of pale bread and of toffee. Grassy-floral bitterness struggles to the surface, with background flicker of citrus and pine. Never really dries out more than a very little; mostly sweet throughout.
Thick and chewy, with decent carbonation. Very sticky into the finish. Eventually a little refreshing.
A pretty nice beer that I'm just is just about at the end of its service life. Heavily tilted toward the malty and sweet, but there are ghosts of hops implying this might have been more like balanced when fresh. Decently drinkable, though, for all-a-that.
