Tonight's beer: Midnight Sun Panty Peeler
Coriander and bright pepper, some lemons and oranges fronting a wall of less well-defined citrus. Pale bread lurks behind, spritzed with white grapes, pears, peaches. Floral-grassy-herbal bitterness emerges gradually, builds to a long dry finish. Background hints of vodka and white rum.
Medium-bodied, lightly carbonated. A bit of viscous syrupy stickiness, slowly but thoroughly drying; eventually brisk and refreshing. Not much hint of the 8.5% ABV.
A nicely drinkable tripel, from a brewery I've had mostly good stuff from. Appropriately treacherous and deceptive for the style; intense and complex, nicely balanced. Supple and subtle and graceful as hell. Delicious from start to finish.
