Tonight's beer: Wild Heaven Ode to Mercy
Some toast and caramel and dark bread, roasty coffee and maybe chocolate woven in. Toffee around the middle, possibilities of dried/candied fruits closer to the edges. Earthy-grassy bitterness emerges through the finish. Darkly sweet, transitioning to mostly dry with flicker of bitter along the way.
Medium-bodied, or maybe a little bit lighter; nicely carbonated. Pleasantly drying and impressively refreshing. Basically no trace of the 8.2% ABV. Mostly smooth.
An astoundingly drinkable—and entirely delicious—big American brown ale. Tons of intense, complex flavor; nicely integrated and superbly well-balanced. Supple and subtle. A completely enjoyable beer, another superb beer from Wild Heaven.
