Tonight's beer: Lost Rhino Wandering Belgian

Lost Rhino Wandering Belgian

Grassy-floral bitterness explodes at the beginning, hints of pine and citrus woven. Pale bread in the background, with touches of caramel and maybe honey. Dried pale fruits (pears, maybe apples)( in the distance, with flickers of spice. Long finish, bitter and very dry.

Just on the light side of medium-bodied, well-carbonated. Scrubbing and scouring, cleansing and drying and refreshing. Just a bit of soft bready stickiness at the end.

A very tasty—very bitter—Belgian IPA from a local brewery I like plenty. Intense as hell, and surprisingly complex; maybe a little one-sided, but poised and controlled and well-integrated. Briskly drinkable. These folks are close enough to get to easily on a Saturday, and I'm curious to see what their winter beers are like.
