Tonight's beer: Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin'
Lots of grapefruit and lemon, some pine and perfume and flowers. Pale bread in the background, with maybe a hint of caramel. Flickers of pepper around the periphery, alongside possibilities of spice.
Light-bodied and nicely carbonated, maybe a dim trace of resinous-syrupy stickiness. Scrubbing and cleansing—almost scouring—and very refreshing.
A very delicious and very drinkable Wheat IPA—even if the brewery doesn't make the style explicit on the label. Plenty intense; maybe a little less complex than it could be, but that's probably a matter of the hops being kinda dominant (appropriately so, for any variant of American IPA) and maybe a little one-dimensional.. Very well-integrated and very much its own thing and very intentional. Definitely a beer to grab when it's available.
