Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

Tonight's beer: Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

Lots of citrus (almost all grapefruit) and pine, flickers of flowers and grass. A little bready sweetness lurks in the background, hints of caramel and dried fruit. Wraps up prickly and dry.

Medium-bodied, well-carbonated. A trace of resinous-syrupy stickiness, especially around the finish, but mostly clean. Cleansing ans scrubbing, drying and refreshing; bordering on scrubbing.

One of the tastiest IPAs around, kinda a shame it's a seasonal beer. Makes the season bright in a very different way from the typical Winter Warmers (though those are nice, too). Intense as hell and complex, more poised than balanced, awesomely drinkable. A beautiful beer, even if it's more of an annual than a perennial (and yes I know that's not a great metaphor).
