Tonight's beer: Westbrook White Thai
Bright citrus, grassy bitterness, threads of warm spice—says ginger on the can, and I'll believe that; pale bready sweetness an undertone and a counterpoint. Wraps up startlingly dry.
Very light-bodied, highly carbonated; powerfully drying, cleansing, refreshing. Extraordinarily clean finish.
This is a delicious witbier, with idiosyncratic flavorings but somehow and anyway tasting pretty conventional. Remarkably intense and complex, given the 5% ABV, wonderfully balanced and together. Astonishingly drinkable. Those guys at Westbrook definitely have several clues about brewing.
