Tonight's beer: 21st Amendment Sneak Attack
Lemons (and maybe other citrus) and woodsy spice (pretty much the cardamom on the label), backed by flowers and grass. Pale bread works its way forward around the middle; then the beer dries out, with bitterness reasserting itself alongside additional peppery flickers.
Light-bodied, nicely carbonated; drying and briskly refreshing. Mostly clean and cleansing, just a couple threads of stickiness into the finish.
A very nice saison, more than a little unusual as a winter seasonal but a completely refreshing (heh, heh) change of pace. Potently intense, suitably complex; delightfully well-integrated if a bit spice-forward to be balanced, exactly (though poised works well). Amazingly drinkable, and convincingly true to style. Delicious.
