It's beer-and-food time, again!
This time there wasn't any beer *in* the food, just served alongside it. The food was roasted pork loin with a neat little balsamic-cherry glaze, and pan-cooked Brussels sprouts; the beer was 21st Amendment's Fireside Chat. The malty-sweetness and spicy flickers of the beer played nicely with the fruity sweet-tartness of the sauce (and the peppery-herbal-garlicky rub). The hints of pepper in the Brussels sprouts also played nicely, as did the brown flavors where they'd gotten a little darkened in the pan.
A nice meal, and a nice beer. Perfect for a night of sitting home while the tundra settles in for a couple days outside.
