Tonight's beer: 21st Amendment Sneak Attack
Bright-woody spice, earthy-grassy-floral bitterness to open. Pale fruits—apples, l;ears, hints of lemony citrus; bread, hints of caramel and maybe toast in the distance. Starts spicy and bitter, evolves through brightly sweet to briskly dry.
Pretty light-bodied, nicely carbonated. Hints of chewiness and stickiness around the edges, but mostly clean; cleansing and drying and powerfully refreshing.
Not a typical winter seasonal beer, but a delicious one. Cardamom is plenty present, but not overpowering; surprisingly well-balanced, superbly integrated. Intense and complex, especially considering the 6.2% ABV. Poised, supple, subtle; immensely drinkable. It's almost May, and we're almost finished with our Xmas and winter beers.
