Stillwater Artisanal A Saison Darkly, and Pan-seared Steak

Beer and food! (on Sunday, because reasons)

The beer is Stillwater Artisanal's A Saison Darkly, a dark saison (shocking, I know) with extra seasonings.

The food is pan-seared beef tenderloin filets, in a bacon and bourbon pan sauce; there's a side of oven-roasted green beans.

The beer played extraordinarily well with the food. It was dark enough to dance with the caramelization on the steak and the green beans, and there was enough fruity sweetness to make for a suitable counterpoint. It finished pleasantly dry and impressively refreshing. The pairing worked out astonishingly well, if I do say so myself.
