Tonight's beer: Belletrix (homebrew)
Starts out floral-grassy-bitter, with strong undertones of citrus and pine; musk glitters on the fringes. Pale-bready sweetness emerges around the middle for a long moment, with a soft caramel glow on the horizon; then the beer slides gradually toward quite dry.
On the light side of medium-bodied, decently carbonated. A little bit of bready chewiness, but wraps up mostly clean, drying, and refreshing.
This beer came in a surprise box as a gift, and it's pretty delicious: a wonderful table-strength beer, good for one or two during, say, dinner. Reasonably intense and complex for ~4.8% ABV, wonderfully well-balanced and integrated and drinkable. Seems like an entirely successful brew to me.
