Heavy Seas (Uncharted Waters) Phantom Ship

Dried/candied pale fruits to open—pears and apples and apricots and white grapes—backed by pale bread, caramel, vanilla. Grassy-herbal-floral bitterness kinda in the distance with flickers of baking spice (cloves and cinnamon). Starts distinctly sweet, wraps up by shifting substantially dryward.

Medium-bodied, decently-carbonated. A fair amount of syrupy stickiness, eventually drying and impressively refreshing. A soft prickle, a vague glow the extent of the notice of the 10% ABV.

A tasty tripel, pretty true-to-style even with the substantial bourbon character. Intense and complex as heck, pretty well-balanced and smoothly drinkable. Not much to show the biggish boozy payload. Another excellent entry in Heavy Seas' series of big beers.
