Tonight's beer: Silver City Liquid Sunshine
Starts notably bitter—grass and flowers, hints of bright herbs—backed by bright and light fruits: white grapes (hinting at wine), pears, apples. Pale bread and almost mead-like honey character in the background. Dries out sharply and thoroughly around the finish.
Pretty much medium-bodied, nicely carbonated. Some soft chewiness, a bit of stickiness. Roughly zero trace of the 9% ABV. Eventually cleansing, scrubbing, drying, and refreshing.
A very nice tripel. I don't know that I remember this as having so much white wine in its character, but it did spend some extra time in the bottle. Very intense and complex, graceful and subtle and supple; nicely drinkable. An impressive beer from the other side of the country.
