Tonight's beer: Jackelope Rompo

Jackelope Rompo

Pretty fruity-juicy to start, layered on caramel-toasty bread and sprinkled with a little black pepper. Pine, flowers, grass, pithy citrus emerge through the middle. Dries out smoothly and swiftly into the finish.

Medium-bodied, well-carbonated. Stiffly drying, cleansing, powerfully refreshing. Maybe some traces of stickiness and/or chewiness.

This is a *very* tasty beer, especially given the moderate (5.6%) ABV. The rye and the substantial hopping give this beer some pretty serious bite, but there's balance and depth and poise here, too. Graceful as heck, and massively drinkable. Recommended to me by a local when I was in Nashville recently, for good and obvious reason.  Very nice, indeed.
