Tonight's beer: Jekyll Hop Dang Diggity
Pine. Big resinous dollops of pine. Threads of citrus, flowers, musk, grass warp and woof through the structure. Bready sweetness lurks in the background, laced with caramel and honey, toasted caramel around the edges. Evolves swiftly to severely dry by the finish.
A little thicker than medium-bodied, a little light (but adequate) on the carbonation. Great gobs of resinous-syrupy stickiness. Eventually drying, scrubbing, something like refreshing.
A very nice resin-bomb of an IPA. Tasty as hell—admirably intense and complex as heck—and plenty drinkable, if more poised than balanced. Graceful and supple, and worthy of close attention. Yet another excellent beer from a brewery that's new to me. One of the side benefits of visiting the in-laws in Georgia.
