Tonight's beer: Service Compass Rose
Citrus and pine up front, amply supported by pale-bready sweetness. Threads in the background of flowers, pale fruity sweetness, some caramel. Intensely bittersweet through a quick dry finish.
Medium-bodied, with lots of carbonation. Some resinous-syrupy stickiness lingers, mostly drying and impressively refreshing. Scrubbing, almost scouring.
A very tasty IPA, clearly brewed for the summers in southeastern Georgia. Amazingly drinkable. Awesomely intense and complex, especially given the moderate alcohol content (6% ABV); poised and composed and surprisingly balanced for the style. Impressive, and highly recommended.
