Tonight's beer: Clown Shoes Undead Party Crasher

Clown Shoes Undead Party Crasher

Opens with a flood of roasty bitterness: coffee and dark chocolate, backed by toast and ash and dark bread. Burnt fruit and threads of vanilla through the middle, thinly. Earth and grass emerge into a lingering, gradually dry finish.

Thick, dense, oily-slick; some soft stickiness lingers a long time. Just a little chewiness into the finish, eventually edging toward drying and refreshing (but not making it). Roughly no hint at all of the 10% ABV this beer is packing.

A delicious beer, whatever name is on the label (and the art is wonderful commentary on the name change). Wonderfully balanced and integrated, insanely complex and intense. Beautifully drinkable, beyond what one might expect from a big stout. Yum.
