Tonight's beer: Flying Dog Dead Rise
Pale bread up front, earthy-grassy bitterness right behind. Pepper and spice in the background, hints of dried pale fruit. Dries out quickly and completely.
Just a little on the light side of medium-bodied, nicely carbonated. Maybe a trace of chewiness and soft stickiness, steeply drying and immensely refreshing.
The Old Bay in this has faded a good bit, leaving a solid, mostly-conventional American Pale Ale. Nicely drinkable. Straightforward, aptly intense, well-balanced. Tasty as heck, even in its somewhat diminished condition. Apparently, our summer was weirdly busy and this slipped through the cracks. Oh, well.
