Tonight's beer: Orpheus Lyric Ale
Pale-bready sweetness, layered with dried pale fruits—pears and apples and lemons. Flowers and grass, maybe some earth; spice and caramel around the edges. Dries out smoothly and completely.
Light-bodied, smooth and round, moderately well-carbonated. A little chewiness, some traces of stickiness. Powerfully drying; cleansing and immensely refreshing.
A delicious saison, wonderfully convincing. Intense and complex as hell, wonderfully balanced and drinkable, superbly well-integrated. Obviously a Georgian brewery, brewing to the requirements of Georgian beer drinkers. Very nice, and highly recommended.
