Southern Tier 2XIBA

Coffee and dark chocolate shot through with grass and flowers, pine and grapefruit. Hints of lemons and brown sugar around the edges. Dark bread and toast in the middle and the background, maybe a smear of maple. Transitions smoothly to steeply dry.

Medium-bodied, well-carbonated. Some bready chewiness and syrupy stickiness linger for a while, eventually, scrubbing and cleansing, drying and impressively refreshing. Not a trace of boozy prickle or heat.

Egad. This tastes a lot like what I remember Iniquity tasting like; it's good to have it back, even if just briefly. Intense as hell and suitably complex, integrated and a lot like balanced (given the style); drinkable as hell. Yes, I'm in the tank for these guys, but this is an excellent beer.
