The Bruery Autumn Maple

Tonight's beer: The Bruery Autumn Maple

The Bruery Autumn Maple

Deep caramel sweetness, smears of maple and molasses on toasted bread; yammy notes in the background, with a healthy dollop of baking spices—cloves, allspice, cinnamon. Earthy-grassy bitterness arises gradually through the middle, lasts into a slowly dry finish. Wisps of vanilla around the edges.

A bit lighter than medium-bodied, nicely carbonated. Some thin stickiness, maybe a little chewiness; eventually drying and impressively refreshing. Alarmingly little warning of the sizable alcohol content.

One of my favorite autumnal seasonal beers, bit enough to keep around for a while id the beer fridges get jammed. Intensely and complexly flavorful, nicely balanced and integrated. Superbly drinkable. Expensive, as The Bruery's beers usually are, but worth it (especially when it's a gift).
