Tonight's beer: The Answer Mouth Hug

The Answer Mouth Hug

Citrus up-front: lemon and grapefruit, hints of lime and maybe orange. Flowers and grass and hints of pine behind; maybe a whisper of of musk and tropical fruit. Pale bread in the background, a contrapuntal sweetness. Vague hints of caramel. Wraps up softly dry, with lingering bitterness.

Medium-bodied, sparse but adequate carbonation. Soft and chewy, with traces of resinous-syrupy stickiness. Smooth for the style; eventually gently scrubbing, cleansing, drying. Basically no alcohol presence.

A delicious Citra-licious DIPA, from a brewpub I've heard lots of good things about (but which is kinda far away). Complex as hell, impressively intense; wonderfully well-integrated and something a lot more like balanced than I was expecting. Scarily drinkable, astonishingly smooth. Supple and graceful.
