Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

Tonight's beer: Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

Pale bready sweetness to open, laced with pale fruits and pepper and spice. Grassy-floral bitterness emerges a moment lager, blooms into lemons, limes, other citrus.  Slides gradually and easily to quite dry.

Light-bodied, with lots of prickly carbonation. Quickly cleansing, drying and refreshing. A trace of thin stickiness, mostly clean.

A remarkable saison, pretty much a showcase for the lemony-bright Sorachi Ace hops. With all the single-hop IPAs around and about, this makes for a brilliant change of pace. Powerfully intense ad surprisingly complex; holds together nicely, poised and graceful. Crazily drinkable and patently food-friendly. A beer I'm always happy to see, and then probably buy.
