Tonight's beer: Southern Tier Hop Sun
Opens with grassy bitterness, possibilities of flowers; pale bread arises quickly as a clear counterpoint. Dim impressions of flowers, pepper, and caramel. Astonishingly dry, quickly.
Very light-bodied, nicely carbonated. Drying, clean, cleansing, powerfully refreshing.
One of my favorite spring/summer seasonal beers; the wheat is mostly apparent in the body and on the flavor margins of what's otherwise a very clean and refreshing beer, moderately intense, kinda linear. Reminds me of a kölsch, or maybe some sort of pale lager. A wonderful warm-weather beer.
